F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts are manufactured from a medium carbon alloy steel which has been heat treated to the proper mechanical values. With a minimum yield strength of 105 ksi, this is the highest strength bolt grade in the F1554 Standard. As a heat treated bolt F1554 Grade 105 Anchor Bolts should not be welded.
Per the AISC Steel Construction Manual (Fifteenth Edition) "Grade 105 should only be used for limited applications that require its high strength".
